The Innovation Expo 2024, held at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, attracted over 10,000 attendees and featured 71 exhibitors, 39 speakers, and 8 workshops. The event showcased cutting-edge technologies across AI, robotics, smart cities, sustainability, resilience and many others.  

For the first time, InnoBiz, a business-focused programme, was delivered on the first day. The sessions highlighted how innovation is transforming sectors across Christchurch and beyond, with presentations on digital twins, AI-driven business acceleration, sustainable energy, and the future of Te Kaha. Attendees gained valuable insights into how smart technologies are being adopted to drive growth, efficiency, and resilience in business.  

With strong engagement from local and international innovators, the Expo also included a dedicated Local Government Workshop, esports tournaments, and a bespoke schools programme, reinforcing Christchurch’s position as a hub for innovation and future-focused development. Over 91% of attendees reported high satisfaction, highlighting the Expo’s success in connecting communities, businesses, and technology. The Innovation Expo provided a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and exploring collaborative opportunities.
